Much to our surprise, schools were closed here today… Seriously folks, we only had about an inch of snow on the ground. Craziness. But anyway… So Evan comes to me and lets me know he is going to go play outside, he’s all suited up so I send him on his way. Andrew heads out a few minutes later. No problem, I know they’re tired of being in and figure they need some run-around time outside.
I figured they were sledding and throwing snowballs. You know, the type of things that little boys like to do in the snow.
They weren’t!
I looked outside to see this:
They weren’t told to do it, I hadn’t even asked. They didn’t even know we had anywhere to go. Vince and I were beaming with pride (still are actually).
I thank God that at the moments that we think nothing we do or say is actually getting through to our children they turn around and show us their best! They do hear what we are saying. Our struggles and frustration are paying off. These boys are becoming good men. I think we’ll keep working!
