Donna, while I can only imagine the heart work God is accomplishing through your obedience to serve His people overseas, I know that my short trip to Peru last summer opened up my stubborn eyes and heart in ways I was unwilling before. How He has changed and softened my heart is challenging. I am constantly in the midst of praying and processing how He wants me to move. So thankful to share this journey with you.

Oh Lisa I love every word in this post. I love the way you broke down so many assumptions and clearly explained where you and your family stand. I have to admit that even after being in missions I have a very hard time putting to words my convictions and I allow fear to keep me from sharing my true heart for these issues. Thank you for being venerable and sharing so well.

Charity, thank you so much for your bold encouragement! I think we are a generation seeking change in the church and authenticity with our brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray that by His Spirit, He leads us to take action in ways to turn hearts towards His mercy and grace!

Thank you for searching out my recipe. Even greater thanks for sharing your heart!

What a wonderful and articulate article! I think if I had written on these topics, they would have looked very much like your words! We have schooled each of our 3 children differently, a mix of home, private, and public schools according to our children's needs. I, too, try to distance myself from "mainstream Christianity" because there is SO much "noise" there lately! I agree on your stance on homosexuality, and think the church has got to learn how to love...love our neighbors and let the Holy Spirit convict hearts. There has to be a way to believe that homosexuality is wrong and still whole-heartedly love our gay friends, neighbors, family members, etc. I'm still wrestling with being able to articulate how I feel, but your words encouraged me! I would have baked the cake, too...We are all human and we all need God's grace! I came looking for your Cake Batter Frappa to add to my latest post on my top 5 favorite smoothies/shakes, but I feel like I found a kindred spirit! Thanks, again, for sharing your heart! You have stirred me to attempt to share mine on some of these issues. Many blessings, fellow Jesus follower!
