My dear husband suggests often that I put more pictures of my parents out and I definitely have a few treasured items from them scattered around the house–but nothing that I think immediately makes people ask about them. I worry about people asking about them because it hurts and it feels awkward and I just don’t know how to handle it gracefully. Even after all this time.

I have stepped it up about this for my kids though. I’ve given each of them a framed picture of my parents (in my daughters case, pictures of her WITH my parents) for their dressers and I’m slowly putting together some photo albums and things. This one is just really hard for me.
