Over the past few months I’ve become familiar with a new-to-me search engine, Swagbucks. When I use it and win there are posts generated on my Facebook feed so naturally friends and family are asking what it is all about… So here goes, I’ll try to explain a little bit.
How many times a day do you search for something using Google?
How often do you get paid to do it?
Enter Swag Bucks… It’s just another search engine option but when you use it you have a chance to earn digital dollars. “SwagBucks” (SB) So now you’re wondering “Is it legit?” I wondered as well. It’s for real. This past month I have exchanged my SwagBucks to the tune of four $5 Amazon.com giftcards!! I am 30 away from redeeming another one!
How do you earn them?
The most basic way is using their search engine. I downloaded the toolbar and use it all the time. Search wins are random and award random amounts, most commonly between 7 – 11 SB I can usually get a search win about three times a day. I use the search all the time, even to visit my frequently visited sites. When I want to go to Ravelry or Facebook, instead of typing in the url in the address window I type the name into the search field, it is an extra click but it pays off.
What are other ways of earning SB?
There are a few that are guaranteed earnings, you get 1SB a day just for having the toolbar installed, 1SB for voting in the daily poll, 1SB a day for visiting the “Trusted Surveys” page of SwagBucks (no need to do a survey, just visit the page), 2SB for visiting the NOSO (no obligation special offers) page and clicking through (takes less than a minute) I just go there and click “skip” or “no thanks” until I get the page that shows me the SB and the phrase to type in to verify. There are a number of other ways to earn too. There is also the SwagBucks TV page that has a ton of short videos to watch, everytime you watch 10 videos you earn 3SB. I have a 2 year old and he loves the zoo videos, I like the Food Network videos (p.s. you can have them running in the background while you’re working on a different tab or window). They say you can earn up to 75SB a day through SBTV, but it hasn’t ever kept our attention that long. 😉 Sometimes there are special offers that award SB for your purchases at Groupon or LivingSocial! There are also occasional releases of Swag Codes. I’m not usually very good at finding them in time, but if you “like” SwagBucks on Facebook and visit that page you can usually see if there are any current active codes. Oh, almost forgot another favorite of mine. You can print coupons from the Swagbucks coupon page (powered by coupons.com) and earn 10SB for each coupon you redeem while shopping at your normal stores. They take a little longer to credit than some of the other things but they do work.
How can you earn more?
You might be wondering why each time I mention SwagBucks it is a clickable link, that is because as a SB user you can earn extra SB for search wins that your referrals receive up to their first 1000SB. If you’re so kind as to sign up after clicking my link, I’ll get a few extra Swagbucks in my ledger. Score for both of us! So use SwagBucks and share the info with your friends and family, so you can start earning more.
It sounds like a lot of info or maybe even too much work but once you actually start using it it becomes second nature and the SB add up fast. Trust me! I registered for SwagBucks in November 2010 and did NOTHING with it, I started actually using it in February 2011 and in just a little over a month I’ve earned 2222SB! You can redeem 450SB for a $5 Amazon.com gift card. You can’t beat that. We use Amazon to order lots of stuff for homeschooling so I’m really enjoying building up my “book money” just for using the computer for what I normally would.
What are you waiting for? Get PAID to do what you’re already doing by using Swagbucks!
** 2014 Update: If you register by June 30th through my referral link, use the case-sensitive code CreativLEI for a 70SB sign-up bonus. If you also earn 1500SB by July 14th, Swagbucks will credit you an additional 500SB!! **
