Home again, home again, jiggedy jig… So after two weekends of traveling (seemingly across the country even if it was only a few states) we’re back and let the laundry begin. The kids are settling back at home, but they were too pooped to make it to story-time today, oh well. I’ve got a refrigerator and pantry to clean out, grocery shopping to do, and of course unpack and do laundry. Plus the van needs a good cleaning after all the snacks and meals we’ve eaten over the last two weekends. Lots of fun just waiting to be had.
We had a good trip to Ohio. Got there Friday afternoon and headed out to the lake for a cookout send-off for Vince’s cousin Kurt, who was in from Amsterdam. We we’re met by some scary looking clouds, but the weather actually help out for us. Gotta love that mid-west weather. I was secretly hoping to actually see a funnel cloud. But we did watch some wickedly dark clouds anyway. The kids were more than happy to be out of the car for a while. They were having fun playing in the garage and riding on the golf cart. Evan got some type of wild hair in him and found a mop and started cleaning. Why doesn’t he do that at home!?!?! Spent Saturday preparing for Katie’s graduation. Vince and I got to take her out to find a dress. She got a great one from B. Moss, if it hadn’t fit her so perfectly I would have been trying it on as a possibility for Eric and Jenn’s wedding. Oh well. She looked GREAT! Of course I didn’t take a pic of her in the dress (she had her gown over it in my pics and I couldn’t find a pic on the web). You’ll just have to trust me. We got to see Julie and meet her boyfriend Ben, he seems to fit right in. Of course we had lots of fun catching up with all the Aunts, Uncles and cousins that we don’t get to see very often. My pasta salad was a hit once more. It’s getting lots of mileage this summer and we’re only in the first week of June! We all headed out Monday afternoon, in hind sight we think it might have been a better idea to not plan the mass exodus we did. It made for some emotional goodbyes. We’re sure to see everyone soon though. Probably in the end of July when Doug and Colleen have the baby. In the mean time we’re going to enjoy at least one weekend at home.
This week should be pretty quiet. Not much going on besides laundry. Still no big news on the house. Still just waiting. NOT. FUN. Have the next couple of days to work on my Mom’s birthday gift, maybe I’ll surprise her and she’ll get it on time… you never know. More later.
