So much news to share…

Alright so I posted a picture of my positive pregnancy test and got NO comments?!?!?  It’s pretty sad, so either no one is reading this thing or no one was surprised.  I realize I didn’t post any of the details, headed out of state for a week with no other comments on the subject and maybe that’s what everyone was waiting for, so here goes.

Okay, so remember the week I was working really hard at de-cluttering the pantries and laundry room before we headed to Boston?  Well that Friday, yup the day we were supposed to leave, we were no where near ready to go at an “ideal” time.  Okay, so that should not have caused me to even blink, that is the norm here.  Instead everything started irking me (now that is putting it very nicely).  The straw that broke this camel’s back was Vince coming upstairs (when he was supposed to be working on an already-overdue report) to help the boys put away their clothes.  So what did I do?  Started screaming like a mad woman.  Yeah, it wasn’t pretty.  After he walked away (very wise on his part) I stepped back and wondered what the heck was going on.  A little bit later I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth.  That when it happened.  I was brushing my teeth and started gagging. OH. NO. NOT. THAT.  The one sure sign of every one of my pregnancies has been the inability to brush my teeth without gagging myself.  I knew, didn’t even need a test to prove it, it could only mean one thing.  We are having baby number FOUR.  Well, just so I could prove it to Vince I took a test that evening.  Yeah that “pregnant” line was red before the stinking “default” line even had a chance.  So there it was.  Oh the shock.  No!  This was not in OUR plan.  I didn’t even know how I was going to tell Vince.  This would certainly throw a new wrench into everything else we’re going through.  I ended up not telling him until AFTER the wedding on Saturday!  He was surprised to say the least.  Of course we are happy, it’s just taking a bit of time to settle in.  Four children, WOW!  Apparently I now have a big family according to today’s standards.

To top it off, I wasn’t just a little pregnant, I am now 12 weeks along.  I just about missed the whole first trimester!  I am still puzzled about all that.  I’ve always wondered in disbelief how women could go MONTHS before knowing they were pregnant.  Now I AM one of those women!  Our midwives are happy to see us again.  They promise they’ll be on time this time around.  We are sort of hoping we’ll already be in PA though.  It seems as though God really is the only one in control here, this is WAY out of our hands now!
