Okay, so I have taken quite a long break from blogging. Have you missed me? What can I say, what excuse is there. We’ve been busy, sort of. I’ve been tired, sort of. And, well, my hands have just plain been full… as usual.
It seems like time is really rushing past us lately, every time we turn around I am flipping another page on the calendar. Who the heck put the world on fast forward without asking me first?
What’s been going on here? We finally have the basement back. The rugs went in at the end of October and we’ve slowly been moving back in. I am thrilled to have a craft room again and Vince has a much needed home office too. Everything looks so different. We’ve been doing a lot of purging through our items which is very helpful before Christmas. The boys have helped me box up lots of their toys for donations and they seem to feel pretty good about giving things to kids that might not have as much as they are blessed to have. Francesca has suddenly turned into a very girly little girl. I caught her with my flat iron (NOT plugged in!) straightening her hair the other day. She’s starting to talk A LOT and she peed on the potty for the first time last night (we’re pretty sure it was just our good timing, but we cheered for her as if she had done it all on her own)! Vince has gotten the motorcycle running pretty consistently now. I’m not worried though, there’s still plenty of things he wants to work on that will have it off the road a bit longer, whew. It looks like a helmet will be purchased soon though. I’ve been keeping my hands busy with knitting needles. Francesca has quite a collection of longies (knitted pants) now so I’ve taken a break on that and turned my focus to Christmas gifts. I’m a little more than half-way finished with the first gift item (can’t say anymore about it since the recipient reads this) and have ideas for a few more. I need to get working on Christmas cards, lots of ideas swimming around, I just need to sit and stamp!
Everything is still looking good with the pregnancy. I am measuring a little further along (which really doesn’t mean much) and I’m feeling lots of Braxton Hicks contractions (again, doesn’t really mean much except that those muscles are exercising themselves). We’re still looking forward to an early February baby. Right after Christmas I need to buckle down and start getting all the birth supplies here. As of my last appointment the little bean was transverse (the one position that will not allow a natural birth), but we’re pretty sure by the right time all will be where it needs to be! Francesca was breech until about 2 weeks before she was born, so we’re not too worried.
Okay, now I’m off to post that much anticipated Christmas list everyone is waiting for…
