We headed down to Chesapeake, VA for the weekend. Saturday was Vince’s father’s retirement party and we arrived on Friday through the remnants of Ernesto. It was nice to see all of the family members and meet some of his father’s friends that had traveled in. The kids were excited about the hotel stay (all except that the pool was outdoors and the weather was crappy).
Luckily the weather cleared up a bit on Saturday and we got out a little to let the boys run off some energy before the party. We stopped at the mall to get a few last minute items too. Namely, some shoes and jewelry for the princess. She threw quite a little tantrum when we left the first store with no bling! It wasn’t my fault, there was nothing in her size. We did finally get her earrings, a necklace and a bracelet. She was very happy. Then it was back to the hotel to get everyone ready. Of course we ran late. Couldn’t help it though. I was finishing up our gift plus I had to do my hair. Where’s Brittany when you need her?!? (Love ya sis!) We did make it though. Our kids made their grand entrance and gobbled up all the oohs and aahs, just as we expected. After the dinner they tore up the dance floor. It was too funny. Evan was even break-dancing on the dance floor! Andrew and Francesca passed out before the night was over and we had to beg a plead with Evan to get him off the dance floor! We did finally get them back to the hotel and settled into their beds. Yeah.
After breakfast and a little visiting we headed out to visit Doug and his new little Noah.
