Okay, so I am back to feeling somewhat normal (whatever normal actually is). You know how every once in a while things just seem to pile up on you and you need to let a little of the pressure out before you explode? Thanks for listening (reading) my vent. I know you are all there and that I am well-loved. I really do appreciate each of you. It was a little funny since I had posted that entry while Vince was out of town for the day, so he was a little confused when he was getting calls (from the Moms) to check on me. It opened up a really good conversation between the two of us and he is working really hard to arrange a little break for me. YEAH! Besides that… The Lord really does know how to give us just as much as we can handle… Francesca slept for 10 hours on Thursday night and Friday night, double YEAH! AND… starting Sunday night she has been falling asleep in her crib (not nursing to sleep) and just about sleeping through, when she wakes she is starting to settle herself back down. I can hardly believe it. Wow, I knew it wouldn’t last forever, I just didn’t expect things to suddenly change over-night.
What have we been up too? As usual it’s been a lot of little nothings that seem to add up to tons. Still playing the “home for sale” game and it’s not really any fun, I could almost quit except that I know that is not an option and that it IS in God’s hands! The couple that “loves our house” and was writing an offer last week… they went on vacation for the next two weeks. And. Left. No. Offer. Are you kidding me?!?! If our agent mentions this couple again with out having an offer in her hands I just may scream.
I picked up some flowers to plant last week. Now I just have to get them in the ground. My garden is being attacked, not sure if it’s the birds or my kids but the broccoli and most of the peas are gone. Things that make you go hmmm. Our ground is rock hard right now since we’ve been without rain. We got a little last night, so we’ll see.
Sunday we went into DC to drop friends off at the train station and too keep Vince from feeling like a chauffeur on Father’s Day we made a day of it with the whole family. Andy and Jenn met us at the National Zoo with Bella and we had so much fun walking the grounds, even though it was HOT as, well, you know. The kids loved seeing all the animals. Francesca spent a lot of the day on my back so I am hoping maybe I dropped a pound while we were there (and traveled far away enough for it to NOT find me again). The boys could have been left there by accident and they would have blended right in with the monkeys. When we got home (later than we would have planned) we dined on the pancakes I had made for breakfast, we were too late for church to eat them in the morning. Yum. I got Vince two new DVD movies with the promise of two at-home date-nights to go along with them. He liked that idea. As for the rest of the men in our lives, surprise, your cards and gifts are late but I’ll make it worth the wait (at least I’ll try).
Yesterday was spent recovering at home and me running for some groceries (childless, thank you Darling!). I also started unofficially following Weight Watchers yesterday, I am too cheap to go back and pay for the meetings but I am watching carefully what I let past my lips. I must be doing okay so far ’cause I am hungry today. I even started following a half hour exercise video I have. And some *gasp* sit-ups. Wondering what prompted all of this? Hadn’t I just said I was content with how things are now? That was before I put on a bathing suit… Yeah, so there I was no longer fitting in my nursing bathing suits which have fit me fine after each child. That’s all it took.
So there we are all caught up again. Hope you enjoyed it. Talk to you soon, gotta go make some lunch before I start looking for chocolate…
