The bags are in from the van, the fridge is cleaned out and restocked and the kids were in bed before ten. Tomorrow I’ll tackle the laundry mountains. Well, maybe not mountains but they’re definitely hills. I received my summer mini and hostess preview pre-orders while we were gone, tonight I get to play. Vince is out working on his motorcycle. Ah… it’s good to be home.
I was too lazy to get out to the grocery stores after the kids went to bed last night, so it had to be done today… with all the kiddies. Surprisingly (to me at least) it went well. We were out of the house by 11:30 and headed to 7-eleven so I could pick up a Sunday paper (yes, I know it’s Wednesday… but I got one!), the bank to make a deposit, and then to Trader Joe’s for our first stop. The kids (and me) love walking around there. They were thrilled when the cashier let them ring the bell, about a bazillion times. When we finished there we headed to Whole Foods (can’t beat their produce selection). That is where I found these beauties. Heirloom tomatoes, purple, white, pink, and yellow. Lovelies. Of course I am the only one in this house that appreciates this find. Oh well, they will make a yummy tomato salad tomorrow. Delish! When we finished at Whole Foods we headed towards home and our last stop, Wegmans. It was lunch time so I treated the kids to some lunch at Panera, a treat for me and them now that Panera has a kids menu. I guess the cashier took pity on me while I was politely telling the kids to stop touching…everything. He stamped off my frequent buyer card (sad, I know) so that my next IC will be FREE, yeah!! The kids were GOOD at lunch. The older lady sitting at the table next to us stopped over on her way out to compliment the kids and me for their good behavior. Double yeah! It’s so affirming to have a stranger compliment their behavior. Of course right after she walked away Francesca tossed all the food to the floor (because I wouldn’t give her a sip of my IC Mocha Almond, as if!) and Evan spilled his apple juice. Oh well, back to reality. After lunch we walked over to Wegmans to finish up our shopping. We had to stand under the train for way longer than I wanted to, but hey, it’s a small trade off for good behavior, I guess. Amazingly we made it out without any tantrums. I must have done something right today. Or God decided it was time for a day off for me… Either way, I’ll take it.
On the way home I got a message that we had a showing between 5 and 6 PM. Doesn’t anyone else in this state eat dinner at that time? Maybe it’s just us… So I called Jeanette to let her know it was okay, but that we had just started unpacking and I was on my way home with a van full of groceries. No problem, she called and let the other agent know. So me and the kids came home, I got all the cold things in the fridge and freezer, got the stinky stuff out, let the kids play in the front, made sure the beds were made, and did a quick vacuum under the dining room table. Good, we’re ready! I went out to weed the front boxes and waited for the showing. They came, I weeded. And all was good, I guess. They actually looked through the relocation paperwork, so maybe there is some interest… we’ll see.
Well, there’s our day. I am going to stamp. More later.
